Actors Action Bootcamp student practices holding weapon
In the fall of 2008 while prepping my Brooks Institute thesis film “Bad Call” which is the story of an Iraq War Veteran coming home with PTSD… my lead actor and I both attended the Actors Action Boot Camp to help us both better understand and prepare for the task at hand.  While attending the Boot Camp Gary and his staff taught us how to accurately portray a soldier on screen.  We learned weapons handling, patrolling, stunt combat, how to work as a team, and most importantly that it is not only about yourself but it is truly about the guys next to you. It was challenging yet fun going through the obstacle course and learning that you can push yourself to accomplish any goal.  I realize that while the camp was very thorough and comprehensive it is only a fraction of what real life soldiers go through everyday but I will say that it was an excellent help to me and my actor and that I would not have been able to make the film without the help of Gary and his knowledgeable and experienced crew. Thanks Gary!

Sincerely,
