Actors Action Boot Camp Frequently Asked Questions

For those of you that have some additional questions about the Actors Action Boot Camp and our lecture series, or you are wondering what to expect, we have listed some commonly asked questions below.  However, if you still have questions please do not hesitate contact us directly at actionbootcamp@yahoo.com or call 760-974-6114

Q: Can I just show up and register on-site on the first day of the course?

A:  No, due to the nature of our boot camp venue space restrictions we cannot allow for same day enrollment without contacting us to confirm space availability first. With that being said, we recommend you register as soon as possible to insure a spot. Plus, your advance commitment helps to give the course adequate enrollment numbers so we don't have to cancel the class unnecessarily.

Q: How often are new boot camp or lecture dates released ?

A:  We do our best to post lecture and boot camp schedules as soon as they are confirmed, please check our website calendar for updates as new dates are constantly being added.

Q: Who should attend?

Our courses are designed primarily for Actors, Directors, Producers and other Theater, Film and Television industry professionals, however the course is open to the general public and is often taken by paint ball and airsoft players, as well as military or law enforcement personnel.

Q.  Is the class/course that physical?

A.  Yes the boot camp is physical, but no student has to feel they need to push themselves beyond their own limit.  This is not a pass or fail course.

 Q.  Is the class/course safe?

A.  Yes! We do our very best to make our training as safe as can be. Furthermore, we are proud of our safety record and are able to report that to date there have been no serious injuries.  However, as with any extreme training or activity there comes some level of risk, so all students are required to follow instructions and course safety best practices.

Q.  Regarding firearms, is there any live fire training?

A.  No,  at this time we do not offer or allow any live fire arms training/firing.   However blank firing weapons are used by staff as needed.  All student weapons are actual movie prop weapons that are a combination of rubber, replica or blank firing (without blanks).

Q.  Will this training guarantee me work or insure that I will be hired as an Actor?

A.  No we cannot guarantee anyone a job.  What this program will do however, is give you a greater advantage over other actors without special training.  We do our best to insure that you will leave the course with a good range of skills that you need to have to be considered for that action, military or law enforcement role.

Q.  Do you do casting, or work as an agent?

A.  First we are not agents.  Yes there are times when we are asked to cast or help supply this type of talent.  When this happens we often turn to past students and either invite students to be part of a shoot or on some projects we are occasionally asked for recommendations for actual roles.  But as stated previously we can make no promises of, or guarantees of work.

Q.  Do I/we have to have any prior related skills?

A.  No.  Though helpful this course is designed for those who have no related skills at all.  For those students with related skills, we often group you with students of similar experience or if there is enough demand we offer intermediate or advanced boot camps.  If you would like to request a intermediate or advanced boot camp or group, we encourage you to request this option on your sign up form.

Q.  Do I have to be in good or great shape for this course?

A.  Though very helpful, the answer is no you don't have to be in great shape.  While the course can be very physically demanding, there is never a need for a student to push their bodies beyond their own fitness limits.

Q.  Do you only take students involved in the entertainment industry?

A.   Acting & stunt talent are often the type of student that enrolls the most often, but "no" you do not have to be in the industry.  This course/class is open to anyone who would like to gain the training and is great for those who seek a challenge.

Q.  Do both women and men take your boot camp?

A.  Absolutely! We encourage both men and women to attend our boot camp.

Q: Is my Boot Camp or Lecture fee refundable if I cannot come or change my mind?

A:  Your deposit or fully paid course fee is only refundable if you cancel 30 days prior to the course date.  If you need to cancel after the 30 day cut off, your payment is non refundable, however we will allow you to change your class date once without penalty.

Q: What do I need to bring to the boot camp?

A.  We will provide you with prop weapons and required tactical gear if you don't have any.  Other than that you will need to come dressed appropriately in boots and comfortable clothing.   More information will be provided to you at time of sign up.
